Michelle Obama regulated the food pyramid on Thursday June 2nd,2011. She compaigned her indea in Washington; explaing the importance of obesity. She plans to fight obesity by divding the pyramid into basic food groups.
Her new design is called Myplate, it is a plate that is split up into
four different sections; fruite, vegetables, grain, and protein A. There is also a small circle on the side of the plate for dairy products.
“I believe it was a good idea to change that food pyramid,” said Ellesse O’neal, a high school student. “That old food pyramid made no sense to me, and the Myplate design looks so much easier to understand.” The Myplate was designed to remind people about the basic and healthful diets.
Officials said they planned to use the compaign to xommunicate essential dietary guideline to consumers. It encourages people to make half their plate fruite and vegetables. It is believed to be better than the pyramid.
“I have been trying to keep my weight in check,” said A.C.M.A student, Donika Shala. “Gaining weight is easy, but losing it is really hard. You have to eat to lose weight but it is hard to stay away from the fattening food.” It is highly recommended to stay away from salty food.
