Last year the New Dorp Varsity Baseball team finished with an above .500 record of 10-8 to tie for second place. As of May 4th 2012, it looks as if their on track to surpass that record.

With four games left on the season, New Dorp is currently in first place with a 9-5 record, with Tottenville trailing with an 8-3 record.

New Dorp looks to continue to play good fundamental baseball. With Senior ace Michael Campanella leading the team to victory with his astounding 1.64 ERA,  and great offensive talent in Sophomore Tyler Warshefskie who is currently leading Staten Island in hits. Along with senior leadership from Thomas Sheridan, Gary Anderson and Charles Cabranes.

Starting Second Baseman Jonathon Connors was questioned about his thoughts on the remainder of the season.

“I think that we’ll win our last four games, be second on the island, make a rather high seed in the playoffs and then make some noise and go from there”, said Connors.
